Reconstruction of Elastic Inclusions of Small Volume via Dynamic Measurements

چکیده
We consider the inverse problem of identifying locations and certain properties of the shapes of small elastic inclusions in a homogeneous background medium from dynamic boundary measurements for a finite interval in time. Using as weights particular background solutions, we present an asymptotic method based on appropriate averaging of the dynamic boundary measurements and propose non-iterative algorithms for solving our inverse problem. Numerical reconstruction of a cluster of small elastic inclusions
We consider a problem of reconstructing a cluster of small elastic inclusions which are located close to each other. We show that the location of the cluster and the elastic moment tensor associated with it can be reconstructed by the measurements of the displacement vectors on the boundary corresponding to the traction applied on the boundary. The detected elastic moment tensor represents the ...
متن کاملOptical tomography for small volume absorbing inclusions
We present the asymptotic expansion of the solution to a diffusion equation with a finite number of absorbing inclusions of small volume. We use the first few terms in this expansion measured at the domain boundary to reconstruct the absorption parameters of the inclusions and certain geometrical characteristics. We demonstrate theoretically and numerically that the number of inclusions, their ...
متن کاملDynamic phase separation of fluid membranes with rigid inclusions.
Membrane shape fluctuations induce attractive interactions between rigid inclusions. Previous analytical studies showed that the fluctuation-induced pair interactions are rather small compared to thermal energies, but also that multibody interactions cannot be neglected. In this paper, it is shown numerically that shape fluctuations indeed lead to the dynamic separation of the membrane into pha...
متن کاملNonlocal Dispersion Analysis of a Fluid – Conveying Thermo Elastic Armchair Single Walled Carbon Nanotube Under Moving Harmonic Excitation
In this work, the nonlocal elastic waves in a fluid conveying armchair thermo elastic single walled carbon nanotube under moving harmonic load is studied using Eringen nonlocal elasticity theory via Euler Bernoulli beam equation. The governing equations that contains partial differential equations for single walled carbon nanotube is derived by considering thermal and Lorenz magnetic force. The...
متن کاملA simple model of effective elastic properties of materials with inclusions
The aim of this study is to develop a simple phenomenological model for the elastic moduli of a composite material formed by localized inclusions embedded in an elastic matrix. It is assumed that the material can be characterised by only two aggregated parameters, viz., volume fraction of inclusions and their resonance frequency within the elastic matrix. The values of these two parameters are ...
